1.1. Why
should I register?
Every photo within www.photos.sc
can be viewed without being a member.
But being a
member allows you to write comments, upload your own pictures and let
them be commented. Each of your photos and contributions will
then have a link to your profile so that every User can see who they
are dealing with.

1.2. How I could register?
At
first you should read the general terms and conditions
carefully,
if you want to register at photos.sc.Accept them to continue.
After
sending this term a window opens. You will be asked about your personal
data and your username. Please fill in the form.
To
optimise our advertising effort, it is advantageous, if you
could answer how you get attention about our webside.
After
you fill in the form you should send it to continue.You will
get
an email, which includes an link, which activates your
registration.
If you don't get this
e-mail, please check your spamfile.Your email provider gives
you information about this file.
After the
activation (one click is enough) you can login with your
username and password.
ATTENTION:
You are not registered directly after clicking the link.
Afterwards you can login in the login-area. The registration is
successfully done.

I can`t login,why?
It
is impossible to login, if you`ve got a proxy server (e.g. AOL).This
browser changes the IP-adress for each request. To avoid the problem
you have to choose another browser (e.g.Firefox).

Yes, it is totally free.

is the owner of the (copy-) rights after uploading?
Of course you keep
the (copy-) rights after
uploading to
www.photos.sc

1.6.
Can
I replace pictures?
Unfortunately pictures
can’t be
replaced. Already existing comments refer to a special picture, so
that a replacement makes no sense at all.

I
forgot my password!
No Problem.
After
a click on 'Login' you can find the link "Forgot
your
password?". If you follow this you can choose a different password.
When you write down your Nickname in the box as well, an confirmation
link will be send to your email adress. After following this link your
new password is set. Your old password
is now unusable!

1.8. How
do I protect my pictures?
Photos are protected
automatically
by German copyright laws and there is no need for an extra copyright
label from the photographer. If a third party uses a photo which you
uploaded to www.photos.sc it’s a violation of copyright and
can cause legal actions.
To protect your pictures additionally you can
arm them with a watermark while uploading them. The watermark will
include the copyright sign with your name and the URL
www.photos.sc.

How
do I edit my pictures?
Being logged in you can go to
edit
Galleryimage or just press "edit"
while watching one of your pictures.

How does the
voting
system work?
It
is necessary to have 15 pictures in your account to vote
for other
pictures.You can only vote for pictures, if you are logged in.
If
you want to vote for a image you have to go on the button "vote".
It is possible to give an voting from 1-10. Enter a comment
for a
photo, if you give a voting 1-4. Please dont be rude in your
comment. If you place bad ratings without a good reason, your account
will be deleted. Fair Play!
The artist sees your
voting in the form of a star icon. Behind the star icon there is an
advice for the votings. If you click "show votings",
you can see your nickname with the equal star icon. You can hide the
voting, if you click "hide
votings".

Can I change my votes?
It
is now possible to change your vote again. If you made a vote for a
picture and now want to change this, just click on the button "vote"
and
proceed like you did in the first run. Your new vote is now
valid and can be seen under "Show
votings".

Pictures can be seen in the Hall
of Fame: If they have A
more than 10
Votes and B the average of the Votes is higher
than
the last
picture in the Hall of Fame.

number behind Hits tells you how often your picture was seen by other
users.

1.14. How does photos.sc finance itself?
Fotos.sc finances itself by advertising campaigns which are placed at
different spots on the website. Moreover, dispatching of postcards is
liable to pay the costs for the user.

For a short time
we have a new design, which is more user-friendly. Several functions are
provided with icons.

What does the icon behind the artistlink on the artistpage mean?
This
icon is the rss-icon. If you click on this symbol you can subscribe the
pictures of the artist as a "rss news feed". You can get more
information about this here: rss - info.

Whats the secret behind the toplists?
the
toplists includes the comments , votes and hits, which you have given
all the time. You' ve got a overview who gaved comments and voted for
pictures per diem, per month, per year.

What is the secret behind the filters in the photoeffect - area?
One
of the new features are the Photoeffects.With them you can edit your
pictures online.

shows the picture in its original situation
Edgedetect-
uses edge detection to highlight the edges in the image
Smoothen

makes the image smoother. Use the parameter 0 to 255 to set the level
of smothness.
Negate
- reverses all colors of the image
Greysale
-
converts the image into greysale
Brightness
- changes the brightness of the picture. Use the parameter -255 to 255
to set the level of brightness.
Contrast

changes the contrast of the image
Emboss
-
embosses the image
Gaussian
Blur - blurs the image using the Gaussian method

sketchy effect - uses mean removal to achieve
a sketchy" effect

How can I upload
my photos?
You have the possibility to
upload new pictures, after you logged in.You have to go to
Login/Overview and click "new
galleryimage"
under the category photos.Now you are in the uploadmask. besides the
seperate tasks you find the interrogation marks, which defines the
tasks. You have to fill in the tasks "galleryimage name"
and "keywords"
(have a look to 2.6.).The other tasks are optional.
Notice:
At
photos.sc there is no upload-limit, regarding numbers and size.
Advice:
After
your Login you can upload your user picture under the category
"main
settings".The
user picture shows or characterize yourself. You have to go to
"userprofile
overview" and choose the option "edit user pictures ".
here you get the possibility to upload a new profile picture.

many pictures can I upload?
As many as you want
to! The webspace on
www.photos.sc is unlimited for every member!

In which format can I upload my pictures?
The pictures can
be uploaded in the format JPG, PNG and GIF.

do I have to put in
keywords?
Keywords make it
possible to find
pictures very fast for you or any other user.
It is also important for the search engines.
Additionally to the keywords you
can create your own folders. Pictures can than be placed in topics
together.

Which photos can I upload?
You should only
upload pictures that you have the copyrights to. In
some
cases you may wish to present pictures on www.photos.sc that were
taken by other people (e.g. friends and relatives). In this case you
should have the permission from the author to publish them on the
internet.
How do I edit my
pictures?
BE CAREFULL: Uploading pictures
that belong to
someone else and where no consent have been given, breaks copyright
laws and makes you liable for prosecution!
It is forbidden to upload pornography or the glorification of
political extremist ideals
or any kind of violence on www.photos.sc.
The terms of German laws apply here.Please enter a comment
for this photo. PLease dont be rude in your
comment. If you place bad ratings without a good reason, your account
will be deleted. Fair Play!
ATTENTION: Nude pictures also underlie the laws
protecting minors. That's why no photographs with distinct sexual
acts are allowed. Photographs focused on the vagina or an erected
penis are not permitted here.

3.6. What is the secret about
the button "mark picture"?
While
filling the form for the upload you can decide either others can order
prints from your picture via our partner snapfish or not by
choosing yes or no behind the question "Order reprints".
You
can change this afterwards by editing your picture.
For
yourself the button "Mark
picture" under your picture is of course allways available
no matter if you allow this to other users or not.

What is the I-Frame?
The
I-Frame (Inline-Frame) is a link, that allows you to put
pictures in to other websides, blogs or forums.
If you want to
use I-Frames for your pictures you can enable this while uploading or
afterwards by editing your picture.
You can find the
I-Frame under each of your pictures.

4.1. How can I upload
my postcards ?
There is a new
feature on
photos.sc.
Now you can post your postcards in the community and allow other
users to use the postcards.
This new function you
can
find under
the login/overview-area.To
upload an postcard click at “publish
postcard in photos.sc“.Now you are in the
uploadmask.
besides the
seperate tasks you find the interrogation marks, which defines the
tasks. You have to fill in the tasks "galleryimage
name" and "keywords"
(have a look to 2.6.).The other tasks are optional.
Your postcards will
be
shown in the
gallery-overview.

How can I
take part
in the photo contest?
To enable your pictures for the
contest, click on the button
"Photocompetition" on the Editing site.
Moreover, there is the possibility to enable the picture directly after
the upload. Simply click the
accordant button.

how many pictures can I take part in the competition?
The maximum amount of pictures
with that you can take part in the
contest is 10.

5.3. How do
I vote for the winners?
Beneath each picture you find the
button "nominate
as a winner".
You
have 5 votes
per week.
At the end of the contest we might increase the voting limit.
Notice:
The previous voting system continues furthermore -
the
appreciations of the photos take no influence
on the placement in the photo contest! The Hall of Fame is independent
on the winner's nominations.

How do I edit my pictures?

Is it possible to activate my photos for the 3D contest?
No,
this isn't possible.Photos can only register for the Photocontest. See
point 4.1.for more information. If you register the photos
for
the 3D- contest you get an advise that the picture can't be acitvated.
To take part at the 3D contest pleace upload the 3D objects to the
appropiate galleries.

You need to build a account at least 3 uploaded pictures.

You can contact the desired photograph easily with the artistlink or
you can book him directly with a click on the round green Button with
